Effective date: August 1, 2026
The app has been renamed. Quran Aloud was previously published as Quran Memorize Pro. It is the same app, from the same developer, and this policy covers both names. If your device still shows the old name, you are running an older version and can update from the App Store or Google Play.
This Privacy Policy explains how AccessibilityX LLC ("AccessibilityX", "we", "our", "us") handles information when you use the Quran Aloud mobile application ("Quran Aloud" or the "App").
This policy applies to Quran Aloud on iOS and Android, and to related support services we operate for the App. It also applies to versions still published under the former name, Quran Memorize Pro.
Quran Aloud requires an account to use the App. You sign in with email and password, Sign in with Apple (iOS), or Google. Through sign-in we receive your email address and an opaque account identifier (a "user ID"). We do not request your name, contacts, or location. If you use Sign in with Apple with a private relay address, we receive only that relay address.
If you create bookmarks, we store them (the surah/ayah and any free-text tags you add) so they are backed up and can sync across your devices. Bookmarks are stored in Google Firebase Firestore under your account's user ID and are readable and writable only by you. When you are signed out, bookmarks remain only on your device.
The App stores data locally to provide functionality, such as playback preferences (speed, repeat, reciter), session state (selected surah/ayah, mode), reading and translation preferences, display and accessibility preferences, reading progress and listening streaks, reminder settings, and downloaded audio and related metadata. This information stays on your device unless a section below says otherwise.
If you turn on reminders to listen or to read, the App schedules them locally on your device. The reminder schedule is stored on your device and is not sent to us. Granting notification permission is optional and the App remains fully usable without it. You can turn reminders off in the App, or revoke notification permission in your device settings, at any time.
If we later introduce notifications sent from our servers (for example, to tell you about a new reciter), this policy will be updated before that happens, and any device identifier used to deliver them will be described here.
The App uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how features are used (for example, which screens and controls are used, and listening/reading activity). These events contain only opaque identifiers, enumerations, and counts — never your name, email, contacts, or precise location. We attach your device's Language & Region (from system settings) to segment usage; this is not GPS or location-permission data.
We do not send you marketing email unless you have separately and explicitly asked us to. Creating an account does not subscribe you to anything. If you opt in, we record that you did so, when, and the exact wording you agreed to, and you can withdraw consent at any time in the App or by using the unsubscribe link in any message. We may still send you essential service messages about your account, such as password resets.
Quran text, translations, and recitation audio are delivered from our own content delivery network and from third-party Quran content providers. When your device requests this content, the provider serving it processes standard technical data as described below. We do not send these providers your account identity.
When the App communicates with our servers, a CDN, or Google Firebase, infrastructure providers may process standard technical logs (for example, IP address, timestamp, requested resource, and user-agent) for delivery, reliability, and abuse prevention.
Apple and Google independently collect information related to app distribution, purchases (the App is free), crashes, and store analytics under their own privacy policies. We may see aggregated, non-identifying reports from them. On Android, the App uses Google Play services for sign-in and app updates.
The App does not access your microphone, camera, contacts, calendar, photos, health data, or precise location.
We use information to:
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We use service providers strictly to operate the App, including Google Firebase (authentication, Firestore database, analytics, and remote configuration), Amazon Web Services (content delivery), third-party Quran content providers, and, if you opt in to email, an email delivery provider. These providers process data on our behalf. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
Quran Aloud is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Data in transit is protected with TLS and data at rest in Firebase is encrypted by default. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Service providers we use (including Google Firebase and Amazon Web Services) may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a revised effective date.
